Set off to
Imantji – best coffee on the Gibb River Rd.
Colourful tanks at Imantji |
Enjoyed a real coffee and huge
piece of carrot cake and then back to dust and corrugations. A few road trains
past and you have to stop as you cannot see anything through the dust.
Turned off
to Mornington Wilderness Park only takes 50 campers at a time and you must book
early. Phoned at road for permission to check in and then drove the 80kms down
their driveway!!
Huge Brahman on the way |
More river crossing to get there |
Set up camp next to Annie Creek. Off to Cajenup for a swim in
the river, very pretty swimming hole didn’t see any crocs but they are around.
Nice swimming hole but FREEZING water |
At 7.30pm a
talk and slides by an ecologist explaining their philosophy to introduce flora
and fauna back into their natural environment. They use a burning method
following aboriginal ranger instructions.
