MONDAY 2nd JULY

Left Banka Banka station and headed for Three Ways Roadhouse. Stopped for fuel and coffee. It hasn’t changed in 29 years, just the mural has been repainted.

End of three ways roadhouse mural.
Turned onto Barkly Highway and headed East. Driving straight into a head wind which doesn’t help the fuel consumption – not easy driving for Nev.

Not much around straight into the wind!!!Whoosh!!
Stopped at Barkley Roadhouse for lunch and then on to Avon Downs free camp. Lots of driving today so not so much tomorrow. Saw a huge mob of cattle being mustered by stockmen on horseback ready to be loaded into 53m long road trains. Avon Downs was a station started by Guthrie Thomas and he requested a Police Station in the 1800’s to be built to stop the cattle rustlers and there is still a police station there now in the middle of nowhere!!!
