Left Banka
Banka station and headed for Three Ways Roadhouse. Stopped for fuel and coffee.
It hasn’t changed in 29 years, just the mural has been repainted.
| End of three ways roadhouse mural. |
Turned onto
Barkly Highway and headed East. Driving straight into a head wind which doesn’t
help the fuel consumption – not easy driving for Nev.
| Not much around straight into the wind!!!Whoosh!! |
Stopped at
Barkley Roadhouse for lunch and then on to Avon Downs free camp. Lots of
driving today so not so much tomorrow. Saw a huge mob of cattle being mustered
by stockmen on horseback ready to be loaded into 53m long road trains. Avon
Downs was a station started by Guthrie Thomas and he requested a Police Station
in the 1800’s to be built to stop the cattle rustlers and there is still a
police station there now in the middle of nowhere!!!
