We got up early and waited for a bus as they shuttled everyone to the town of Thowgla where the show was on a large property. Beautiful country side Angus cattle country, rolling hills in the highlands.
Thousands of people gathered on the paddocks we were lucky to get a hay bale to sit on as we decided not to carry our chairs all day.
It was very hot but really well organised, drinks and food out on the paddocks right in front of the hill where the show was being held. It was about two hours long with some fantastic horsemanship and riding and explanations about the story of The Man from Snowy River and Banjo Patterson. A draught horse team from NSW was there pulling a cart and they work their farm using this method as was done in the old days. Hard to imagine from the pictures but the video looks good.
We all were bussed back to town in time for the street parade which was a lot of fun with all the community groups taking part. Some massive semi trailers, SES, farm machinery a real country parade.
Tonight we watched the Working Dog Championships, one dog one farmer and three small cattle had to complete a three obstacle course. The dogs were amazing.
The sunsets have been beautiful every night and we watched over the Rodeo Arena last night.
Enjoying the photos and comments, didn't even know about the the Man from Snowy River River Festival, its an annual event...enjoy..keep clicking and commenting.📸
