Left Marree and headed towards William Creek Caravan Park for the next night. We followed the Old Ghan Line which follows some natural springs. The country is flat and dry and then you come to these amazing springs some have been built up over the years with the calcium deposits and now on top of mounds. The aborigines used these to travel across the country. Along the track are remains of old sidings some of the buildings are still there but derelict.
The Blanche cup springs
The Bubbler
We pulled into Coward Springs to see if it was a prospective camp site but the flys nearly carried us away so we gave it a miss but it did have an interesting hot spring that you could go into but we didn't.
Our first view of South Lake Eyre in the distance.
