SUNDAY 29th APRIL

Up early to do the "St Mary's Peak" walk at Wilpena Pound, 21km graded "strenuous"!!!!
Walked through some interesting landscape and lots of kangaroos. Then the track started to climb literally up and up!!!we were on all 4's at times climbing to the rim of the pound. Amazing views just as well it was worth it!!! We didn't go up the last little bit as the aborigines request you don't as it is a special place by then we had just about had it anyway!!Magnificent views 360 degrees of the pound. We had lunch and started the descent a lot shorter than going up but very very steep the boys had to help us down one at a time. Got back about 4pm absolutely exhausted, no one could move!!!

Very isolated life of early squatter on the way into pound.

interesting carving in solid rock

Nev having a rest after lunch before the descent
