MONDAY 14th MAY

A quiet day today.
Nev cooked bacon and eggs for brekky as we didn't have time yesterday on Mothers Day, in the beanie I finally finished for him. It was the wool I bought in Bendigo.

Looking pretty "cool" in his new beanie!!!

Some of the guys went for a drive to Rainbow Valley back out on Stuart highway. We didn't want to go so I made some date scones for their afternoontea when they got back look pretty good!

We decided to explore where we were. It was really interesting and we drove along the track where the Owen springs station used to be it was the first pastoral lease in the NT and the road follows John MacDowell Stuart old telegraph route. In 2000 there was a massive flood which destroyed the station and all its bores and fences and infrastructure so it was abandoned and bought by the NT government and is now a heritage site.

The drive through the eucalypts was lovely
Tonight we are all doing a camp oven cook up. Everyone contributed to a magnificent dinner around the campfire.

Time to eat!!
