THURSDAY 3rd MAY

Up early to feed the baby lambs, they are so cute.

Only a few days old rejected by mother and left to die!!!

There were other visitors at the station too.

Chocolate the cheeky Alpaca
Headed off to Leigh's creek did a bit of shopping getting expensive now in the middle of nowhere on the Oodnadatta Track. On to Copley for morning tea where we had heard about their Quondong Pies so had to try one. They were delicious had it for tea with cream Yummy!!
Left and continued to Farina nearly made it and Chris got a flat tyre on his van. He limped into deserted Farina for the boys to change it with him. Interesting place for 2 months a year volunteers come and are restoring the old town. They have finished the unique underground bakery so a baker comes and makes bread for the 2 months for travellers, so they can raise funds for the restoration.

Nev loved his pie

The underground bakery

The old post office to be restored
On to Marree for the night. Drizzling a little bit and windy. We drove through a dust storm today so happy to stay behind the pub for a free night camping. They had an museum to Tom Cruze who was an old postman delivery mail in his old truck from Adelaide to Birdsville for about 40 years until he died as an old man. There has been documentaries about him. A nice old pub and the old Ghan rail line runs through the town. Early night but lovely sunset again.
